When I had a 135L, I really liked it on the 7D but not so much on FF.
That is why I'm interested in a 200 2.8 but I was wondering if it was also usable on a crop body despite the lack of IS ?
Do you have any experience with it and would you recommend it over the 135L ?

Thanks :)

The 200mm 2.8 is my favorite lens of the 10 I own. However, the 135mm 2.0 is one magnificent lens and for outdoor portraits on a FF, Its really outstanding. But if you didn't care for the 135mm on a FF, the 200mm 2.8 would be perfect. You'd get a similar view as you would a 135mm on a crop. It also takes a 1.4 extender very well. It is also very sharp wide open, and does outdoor portraits nicely. And another wonderful similarity it has with the 135mm 2.0, its black!

Thanks nightcat. For the outdoor portraits, I'll use my 85L so I won't miss the 135L there ;)

And is it easy to handhold the 200L on a crop without IS ? do you get reliable results ?

Yes, its quite easy to handhold. Its just a tad bigger than the 135mm 2.0.

this is the combo I use to shoot sports and streets with some distance which I find good for staying fairly unnoticed...all handheld very easily...it's the best lens I have.

Looks like it will be my next lens then as the results are astonishing and I really need a tele to capture some candids.
