Comically...I traded my 5D MKII and 17-40L + cash for my 100L(which was pretty much brand new) , at first i thought i might regret it considering my fondness for the 5D2...oddly i don't regret my decision...though a 5D2 and a 180L...hmmmmm

Yeah the thing is a beast. I just got it 2 weeks ago and my wrist is killing me from how much I've been shooting with it. In fact I couldnt stand my 5D until I got that 180 and now you'll have to pry it out of my cold dead fingers.

What a lovely image!!! All the yellow is offset and complemented beautifully by the blue!


I sold my 100L a month ago Within an year I used it like half a dozen times but then I usually shoot portraits and it was never chosen with 85L and 135L to compete with. Looks like all of my flower shots are done with portrait lenses.

Sad to read this, was looking forward to your Springtime shots Stina, if you want to borrow my 100L for a bit in the interim let me know, barely getting to use it latley with how much i've been working

Thanks, JD. I will probably start focusing on the hummingbirds now that my wisteria is starting to bloom. I don't think this spring is going to last very long anyways. I think the green will be gone soon.

Yup, I keep the G15 in my purse at all times. Between that and my other lenses I should be fine. I think I have had the 100mm since 2009 and I didn't use it for quite a while. Now that I pulled it out and started using it again, it breaks. Oh well, it's been around a while and I think I dropped it once so it's probably overdue for some TLC anyways.
