I cut back my wife's rosebush for the winter, but before doing so, we both noticed one last remaining large bud on top. Due to the cold weather, we trimmed it off and brought it inside. My wife put it in a glass vase of water and we hoped it would blossom indoors, and to our surprise it did!

This is a shot of it fully opened up. I carefully put the glass vase on the livingroom floor, and stood over it at an angle with the Nikon's 70-300mm "kit" lens and set on Aperture Priority. I zoomed until the rose flower and two leaves were engulfed in the viewfinder.
