Nothing special about these two shots, except that they were taken with my 50mm f1.8, the cheapest lens Canon make, I think, at just over £100 on Amazon in the UK. I bought it a few years ago and I've hardly used it, but I decided to try it out again. I was surprised what a cracking little lens it is. Cheap and cheerful, a fraction of the weight of my L lenses, and so much easier to carry around. It's also interesting to use a prime lens after so long using telephotos. Of course, you get what you pay for, but this lens - long forgotten on my shelf - has very pleasantly surprised me. It would be good for street photography, I reckon. These shots were taken on my 5DIV in very poor light. The first one is a heavy crop, but the second is almost straight out of the camera. Does anyone else here own this lens? If it's tucked away in a drawer and forgotten, I'd recommend that you dust it off and give it a go. It's a little belter!
