You should always wait. Never buy. It's too soon.

And there will be another. Just wait!

Ironic Tom. I was going to sell my 50D to get subsidize the purchase of either the 5DII or 7D but then realized I could only get $700...the price tanked on me. I was hoping to get $1K. Well I decided to keep the 50D for now. I realized I really don't need the 7D since I have the 1D3 so I'm waiting on the 5DII price to tank as I am satisfied with the 2 bodies I have.

How come we all have to give our 2 cents in a thread like this (me included )
To wait or not to wait - this is not a question
It is a mood (and today I feel good)
So get it and do not regret it!

I prefer to buy $1000+ DSLRs from a local store such as Micro center/Best Buy/B&H because it is easier for me to return it in-case if any issue arrives. I have had issues with G9, G10, D40x, D60 where I had to return it to the local store. I just placed an order for 7D at my local Best Buy 36 months no interest payment plan! Going to pick it up in a while!

Any resources you guys suggest.. for me to get most out of the camera? Like a tutorial/training dvd etc. Let me know! Appreciate your help!

Sometimes we need a little nudge from fellow photographers.

So you bought it off ebay and didn't activate your 8% bing cashback? That seems to be a bit silly if that is the case.

Plus I haven't waited for my last 3 bing cashbacks, they were instant! :)

I bought my 7D at the first release (October) for $1460, so I have only lost $60 so far across 6 months! ;)

Well
I'm waiting, but mainly because I dont have the money to spend on a new body
But I think in a couple of months we will have another body (just a wild thought)
However, that new body will be at full price, and then you'll have to wait for it to come down the price a bit
But if you need a new body and have the cash, why wait??

It is 8% for Ebay buy it now, any buy it now, and is not store/vendor based. You would have received $112 back.

I currently have a 40D. My current upgrade plan is 7D > 5Dmk3.

The 7D JUST came out and will probably have the normal 18-36 month life span till Canon releases it's sucessor. I'd buy a 5Dmk2 right now but it's nearing the end of it's life cycle and a new one is expected in 2011.

Get the 7D now, it's an awesome camera.
