Using Buy it Now, you can get a 7D for $1380 from reputable ebay dealers (just the bing cashback, not including ebay bucks or mrrebate), no bidding wars, etc. Sure you can luck out on an auction, but some of us aren't that patient. :)

Keeping up with electronics is impossible. The 7D looks like a great camera. Seems to have good high ISO performance, Great shutter speed and a new AF system that is really making a name for itself. if you are looking for a 1.6x Canon crop body I do not see another choice. If a 60D is released it will be a watered down version and since the 7D was a new addition who knows how long before its replacement hits. Personally I would say grab one if it fits your needs, :D

I prefer to buy $1000+ DSLRs from a local store such as Micro center/Best Buy/B&H because it is easier for me to return it in-case if any issue arrives. I have had issues with G9, G10, D40x, D60 where I had to return it to the local store. I just placed an order for 7D at my local Best Buy 36 months no interest payment plan! Going to pick it up in a while!

Any resources you guys suggest.. for me to get most out of the camera? Like a tutorial/training dvd etc. Let me know! Appreciate your help!

This site is a great place to learn almost anything you need.

The camera should come with the best book written for it. It will be called a Users guide, please read it. I never read the one for my first DSLR and I I really should have. There are so many really cool features that you will never know without that manual. I have read my current one 3 times and it has really paid off.

Have you read a Canon manual lately?

Japanese technogeek does not translate well--hence the market for 3'rd party guides

Sorry my guide says D700 on the front.

The last Canon guides that I read were for a 40D and a 1D3, they were very informative.
What third party guides have you used, Any good ones?

Buy it. You've already missed another day of shooting with it. Then in a year you can say "my 7D takes better pictures than that new 7D Mark II."

Buy it now. It's a very solid and capable camera and I am sure you will enjoy it like all of us. Don't wait.

You have problems with the way you are using the equipment then. The chances of having four different cameras having problems are statically slim.

Not to mention online retailers (besides not having tax and being much less expensive) often times have great return policies. Spending $400 more for the same camera is not worth the ability to walk into a store instead of calling up, getting a return label and shipping it back.

Well done, you wont be dissapointed.. I really cant think of anything I would want changed in a next model! The videos on the b&h site are really very good and well worth watching, those along with the manual and camera in hand will open up a lot of the cameras functions for you..

oRGie - I am an EOS and the 7D was my idea
