Is there any way to keep the 430 EX II from powering off automatically when not used for a while? I just started doing some strobist type lighting and it is really annoying having to go and hit the pilot button on the flash to wake it up any time that I have an interval between shots.

You can deactivate standby, it's custom function 01 "Auto Power off". That needs to be changed from "0" to "1" I believe. But just have a look where it's set to at the moment, and change to the other setting.

How long does your 430EX II exactly need to fall into standby? Would be interesting to know for me.
