This will no doubt have been posted before by someone as the videos are not new - they are however quite interesting if you havent seen them. I have embeeded the videos in my blog - but you can also view them directly on youtube.

Very Cool!! bw!

I now have a lot more appreciation for why my 500 cost almost $6k. That doesn't make writing the check any less painful but its nice to at least know that a lot of care went into the product that I paid my hard earned bucks for.

And damn, all that work does show up in the images it produces!!

There was something on How It's Made or one of those similar shows on some Leica binoculars. Their production is even more involved and precise.

Very cool! It doesn't make the lens any cheaper, but it sure does make you appreciate it more.

Good portion of the assembly is by hand! It is incredible how good the quality control has to be at each step to ensure the legendary quality of that L beast.
