Hello all, I know both lenses are great but I'd like to hear from people who have had to make the decision or those who have both and which ends up being more useful to them.
Thanks in advance,
Nick

See which focal length you use more. It doesn't matter which lens is more useful to OTHER people, but which is more useful to YOU and your uses. It looks like you have 2 50mm lenses now--do you like them on your crop body, or do you look for something wider? I do have the two 50mm's and I find that I use that range quite a bit. I have no reason to own three of them, let alone the two I currently have. It's just the 50 1.8 is hard to get rid of because it was so cheap. If I were to get the 50L, the 1.4 would go to a new home. I had the Canon 28 1.8USM and found the range VERY useful but I found that it was a bit flaky when it came to auto-focus/sharpness. That's why I'm leaning a bit towards the 35L. Kiwikat wrote in post #10252765 Well you've already got a few lenses that cover that range. See which focal length you use more. I am leaning toward the 35.

Its actually one of the reasons I got the 7D was because I wanted the 35L to be one of my main lenses. The AF on the 50L is just too slow. Eric Darlington Photography
