Sweet,
Man I wish I was born with an extra finger so I could play one.
Perhaps these were made for Hemingway cats?

So you play the 4 finger guitar then?

That's all you need for most grunge songs anyway.

Oh, I messed up my smartass remark, I meant to say a 4-string guitar but I guess I haven't had my V8 today.

Haha!

Everyone tells me to keep buying that camera. :p

Honestly I do not recommend the D3x. If I were you I would either go D3s or wait to see what replaces the D700.
Despite being the highest priced I do not think that the D3x is Nikons best camera

As long as it is not confused with (Kellogg's) cornpop, and especially not with coppron or proncop.

I don't think I'd by a camera with a portrait grip attached either. It would be cool if Canon just had a button that rotated the sensor 90 degrees..

I've been saying this for a while. The lenses cover a 24x36mm area. That doesn't specify orientation, as it IS a circular projection. Why not just make a 36x36mm sensor and read it out however you need for the orientation/format you want? Read out 24x36, or 36x24, or 30x30...

$$$ is why. That would be a tremendous increase in sensor size.

In the film days, there was a 24×24mm square format for 35mm (135) film, but it never caught on. You can easily simulate this by cropping your pictures to a centered square.

One other thing, the image circle is not circular with all lenses, especially when hooded.

You don't relax with this many people, lol! That's why I don't like going to the beach. It's really not worth it around here if you're trying to relax by the ocean.

hahahha.... and people still go naked in that beach?

the D700 successor is still a long way to go I guess...not really going to be released soon

yeah I think that is nice, switch for portrait or landscape orientation...

even just a crop 24 x 24 would do... I don;t think its more expensive than the FF 36x24 sensor to produce. I'm sure they could produce something like that.

nikon even priced their D3x at almost $8000. surely people will still buy that square sensor if people want it.

Ah, that is true about the hoods. I didn't even think about that. It is an increase in sensor size and therefore cost, but the cost of manufacturing these types of devices has been steadily going down, so you never know if we'll see something like that one of these days.

a 24 x 24mm sensos is smaller than a 36x24 sensor though...except it is not fullframe. and the hood? canon surely could make bigger/wider hoods hehehe
