So, I was reading on the new Nikon released lenses...

Now since Nikon have
16-35mm f/4 VR
24-120mm f/4 VR
I would assume they will release something like a 70-200mm f/4 VR... but how soon? next year? hehe

if they do release something like this, I might be tempted to buy an f/4 VR lineup :)

yeah I am actually thinking about getting a Canon D10. I also love snorkeling, good thing there are a lot of snorkeling sites here.. I make it a point to snorkel at least once every month.

you should visit the Philippines next time :)

Yeh there are snorkelling sites here too, but nothing really organised like in the tourist places. What annoyed me though is the number of noobs (who I suspect couldn't swim) walking over the corals.

I snorkelled down in Tasmania (where I'm from) in the winter once (12ºC or 53ºF) with an ill fitting wetsuit on (not mine) water leaked in and I had to wear a jumper (sweater) etc. underneath to (try) and keep warm). Still loved it.

In fact this video: http://www.youtube.com …=kmdfsU6v3n4&feature=user (external link)

... was shot in winter. I had swimming goggles on and had to hold myself under water for one shot.

It was rather cool.

yes, that's really me in that video... and I really had to grit my teeth to dive in the water like that. ;)

Oh and it's my voice at the end (both of them) if you needed to know. :D

LOL Adrian, I don't know if I should believe that its you in that video... haha

yeah newbie should be required to wear lifevest for them to float.

I hate to snorkel on shallow waters though, specially if there are a lot of sea urchins and other creatures. I love to snorkel at around a minimum of 8ft of water up to around 20feet more or less.

lesser chance of disturbing the corals... the best Snorkeling site I have been to so far is in Palawan.

btw, when I went to Manly beach in Sydney, it was pretty cold. hahaha I did not even tried to swim, and it was not even winter. wheew!!

Yeah freakin' sea urchins. They had these black ones with massive spines.

They were actually wearing life-vests but they were till walking. Noobs.

Unfortunately I couldn't get out to 8ft water. I was more like 5-6 feet. I could swim above the corals mainly though. My son (who is 4) trod on a massive waving hands coral. I got him off real fast. :)

Sydney water isn't as cold as Tamanian water. Still less sharks in Tassie. ;)
