What was that film with the dude who putS broken glass on his hand before fighting?!

That's Jean-Claude Van Damme in Kickboxer (external link) (1989).

Van Damme is to acting as Nikon is to photography...which is not very good. :p;)

Ultimate movie...

In a world where Canon is continually beating Nikon... One man dares to defy the odds. One man goes against all conventional wisdom to help his growing family. One man throws his tripod to the wind...

Jean Claude VanDamme is...

KEN ROCKWELL!! - left handed warrior

Coming soon.

^That movie will never happen. :):p

Here's a review of the Nikon 16-35 f/4 VR going head-to-head with the Canon 17-40. The Nikon wins in sharpness. I'm seriously thinking about buying this lens again and buying an EOS adapter from 16-9.net so I can use it on my 1Ds MK III. :)

Hate to get all serious, but I am curious about something.

Has anyone here done this?

Shot canon for long lenses.
Shot Nikon for wide.

???

Seems to me (right now) Nikon are much better for wide angle stuff (14-70mm range).

Now we all should forget what I just said....... yeah.... Nikon sucks.

;)

There are some users that actually shoot the Nikon 14-24 on Canon cameras. The results are amazing.

^^ hesitant to do that, since it's a lot of money for Canon to turn around and bring their own version out.

Right now I would love a Canon version of the D700 (ie better AF...) and a Canon 14-24... and a new 24-70 (better still a 24-85).

Well, right now it isn't going to happen. This is now and you're dreaming of a lens that Canon may never release. The only possibilty atm is a 24-70 IS or w/o. :) I have this feeling Canon has something up their sleeves for Photokina in Sept. but, I wouldn't hold my breath.

Well apparently Canon have a 14-24mm patent out there somewhere, and I am pretty sure they'll make something since the noink one is going so well.

Personally I'd be more surprised if they didn't make one.

Basically, I would rather a 2nd hand 14L over a lens that doesn't even let me AF. ;)

the 24-70 II/IS whatever it will be, will come out eventually I suppose.

Not really dreaming about a 14-24 though, my 16-35 is good enough. :)

I don't like to depend on AF all the time. MF is the way to go when I'm shooting landscapes. :)

I'm shattered!

I thought you were a hardcore stealthy ninja who didn't need AF but now the truth comes out.

I'm confused and feel lonely ???
