And lets no forget quick focus. Some of the primes arent, should i say, speed deamons

haha, yep! USM FTW! lol

I honestly think the 85L is one of the most overrated lenses i've ever used.

85L is amazing. focus though does suxors a bit and can be problematic. but I'm really struggling to believe that someone who has a 5D2 and 85L combo, bought it for the AF performance ^_^

I used it on my 5d mark 1 and 2, and on my 1d3. It just didn't impress me for the premium you paid over the 1.8 variant, since most of the time you were shooting at least f/2.0. The CA was horrible on it as well. Nikon's "cream machine" is just as effective IMO. 35L=magic, 85L=overrated.

AF was so slow, shooting at f/1.2 is overrated since the DOF is so thin, it's borderline unusable.

I remember you saying it was borderline unusable. Is the lens sharper at twice the rated fstop? Would that allow for sharper images in low lighting?

It was very sharp at wide open f/stops, i'll give it that. It just sat in my bag a lot, the 35L I couldn't stop using.

Dont say that, I just got my 50 1.4. I'd hate to sell it before using it fully.

Anyone update thier iphone 4's yesterday? HDR pictures come out alright in my opinion. I like how it shoots both a regular shot and an HDR shot while keeping both for comparison reasons.

Well, my legs are pretty strong considering I bike a lot.

Can you steer with just your legs and body weight? That would leave your hands free to shoot while you are biking! Or throw the finger as you pass by Nikon users.

You and your pies. What's up with that!?

35L, 50L, 85L and 135L. everything else is pretty decent over there. but these are my fav primes. 2 of these should be updated in the future as well. I'm not sure how they can improve on that 35L but I'll be all over it.

You have just named the L primes I dream of! The Holy Trinity Plus. Maybe the "Holy Quartet".

The 35L and 135L are due for an update in the foreseeable future. Like you said, I don't know how they can improve them, but I'd be all over them as well!

The 50 1.4 is amazing and the best bang-for-the-buck 50mm lens in Canon's lineup (the 1.8 is the least expensive and also a good value, but I give the win to the 1.4). It doesn't beat the 50 1.2L in IQ, but it's still heck of a performer. You won't want to part with it so easily. :)

You are making it even more tempting and hard to resist! Can't be good for my wallet!

I know. I am going to use the 50 1.4 till my eyes bleed so I can see the IQ improvement dramatically to validate the purchase of the 50L or 35L.
