Are you going full frame? If not the sigma 30 was sweet. You may have to send it is for calibration that is true but it and the 50 are well worth it. I wonder how the 85 is.

Full frame eventually but not right now. I want the 50 on crop to give me that 85mm on FF type length. Although i have wondered about the 30 as well. Might just rent both and try them out!

So, I called canon loyalty to confirm the 5D2 is indeed out of stock. Its so weird to be bodyless. I'm gonna try to connect my 50 1.4 to the S50.

From what ive read you will have to check non-stop for it through the program.

I just keep hitting the refresh button on a browser I have set on the refurbs on canons site. I stopped hitting refresh because it keeps saying out of stock and it saddens me. Its like finding the outcome of roulette when its the other color you bet on.

Finally! This is what Lisa is getting next year for her bday:

Will you send one to each of the rest of us for our birthdays too? ;)

Well, except Julian. He doesn't like pie. He just wants Leica. Too bad Leica doesn't make pies because I'm sure they'd be heavenly. :)

I know. I am going to use the 50 1.4 till my eyes bleed so I can see the IQ improvement dramatically to validate the purchase of the 50L or 35L.

The biggest thing for me would be that the 50L produces much more beautiful colors and bokeh than the 50 1.4. But the 50 1.4 features faster AF (in spite of being Micro USM rather than Ring USM) and is slightly sharper between f/2.8 to f/8. For my purposes (and given that I am not made of money), the 50 1.4 suited me better so that's the one I went for.

Don't get me wrong though. If I had the money, I would not hesitate to get the L's!

Bryan Carnathan over at The-Digital-Picture.com said the same thing in his review, lol.

I wanna replace my 50mm f/1.4 with a 35mm, I dunno if I will go siggy or Nikon. I am not decided yet though if I will pursue it.

You can see some mild haloing in the guy when he makes hand motions. It almost appears as an aura-esque effect.
