Depends on the body/lens combo... (cough 5 cough)

It was more of a joke. My old 1d3 had great AF.

Yeah, that's why I put in the bit bagging the 5-series :-)

cheers, juice (Canon shooter, Elinchrom lighter, but pretty much agnostic on brands.)

Yeah if the 5 series put at least the 7d AF in it, it'd be amazing.

On a related note, I got my 10D out and shot that the other day. Fair to say the AF is a touch slower than the 1-series :-)

(And what will Canon do when they have the 9D? They've already doubled up with the 30 and the 60, so I guess there's precedence...)

Well, 7 1/2 years on and it's still taking good pics! Can't be all bad!

(Actually, I fired it up a couple of weeks ago and it gave me Err99s, but now it seems to be working again. Funny-sounding mirror-slap :-)

You suck up. :p

Nothing but the truth. Pekka deserves all the praise he can get. And most of the admins and mods aren't bad, either (though I have had differences of opinion with (and been banned or threatened to be banned by) some).

Most of us use to be Canon users you see.

Fine. Dare I suggest that since you wanted to drop Canon (absolutely your right) you should drop it all the way. Nikonians awaits you.

From my point of view, your staying here and bashing Canon in a Canon forum merely enforces my opinion of your nikitude. And I do NOT mean that in a good way.

And there are just as many Canon users who used to be Noinkers. Of course, they don't hang around Nikonians and preach how much better their new Canons are.

Of course, that's a given. Nikonians would propmtly throw them out.

We all (at least, all of us that are honest) know that Nikon is NOT better than Canon, nor the reverse. They are just different. People should use that which serves their personal needs best.

But they are just cameras, not a religion. People should not be actively trying to make converts.

I don't dislike Nikon cameras/lenses for their quality or features. I dislike Nikon as a company, because for their in-your-face-I'm-a-Nikon-user-and-can-do-any-damned-thing-I-want attitude (nikitude for short), as proven by their current spate of TV ads.

And their nikitude is pervasive, as evidenced by the actions of several noinkers on this very forum.

Not gonna lie Roger, the general "nikitude" that I see all around, not just here, does drive me nuts... But I simply shoot what works for me. I'm no fanboy. ;)

Then again, this thread in specific is mostly joking - but I've seen it in other threads, and admittedly have said a thing or two here and there, but nobody's perfect. Conversely however there is also a canontude that naturally prevails here for obvious reasons - however sometimes it is disheartening to have someone bash me simply on gear merits as opposed to my actual ability or even personality.

Anyway, off to bed. Catch y'all tomorrow. :)

Sacrilege I say Sacrilege that is!!!!!

I be a demanding that you be keel hauled for a statement like that but finding a boat and enough water to float it in there in Arizona would be a bit difficult...

:)

Roger did you hear that I was able to fix my little Coolpix camera?
