Was. It hurt mostly in my wrist, I would wake up my hand would be so stiff that I had to pry it open with the other one and it hurt like.....well I won't say I wanna keep the thread clean ;)

ahhh... your wrist get stiff? my GF's wrist doesn't but she does experience a pain when the hands/wrist are under some weight/force.

I give up on buying anything right now. I want to be free of not buying anything photography related for now. It stresses me out!! Tbh, I don't have any major finances (mortgage and car payments) but, trying to keep up with photography is making me sick. It really is.

haha you know Julian, you got no problems, so you created your own problem.. just enjoy shooting and posting here and stop worrying about gears. sell everything and just keep your 1DsIII and 16-35mm or Zeiss 20. :D

I did love going out for 1 day with just my Sigma 12-24mm... It was such a blast to not think of switching lenses and just make the most out of your gear in hand

KenjiS wrote in post #10940352 (external link)
Is it bad when you were just adding up a shopping cart on B&H to see how much it would cost to switch to Nikon compared to how much you could likely sell your Canon equipment for?

is it worse that you would come DAMN close to breaking even most likely?

D7000
50mm f/1.4G
16-85 VR
105VR Micro-Nikkor
Sigma 50-500 OS
Nikon SB-700

$5083.75.....

And I figure I'd get $4500-$4700 for my Canon stuff...

Figure if i switch, invest more in my lenses than my body....

Ugh..Great..

so what are you waiting for Kenji? make the switch!! :D

Yeah seriously, there comes a point where you can just over think the whole thing. Laying in bed thinking about different lenses and which one you should buy and so on. Sometimes I feel it's better just to simplify.

Leica might suit you. Simple and fun. Just get back to the roots.... or maybe I'm just making it worse.

Let me tell you that it does. Adding in the Leica doesn't help Stealthy!

Do people actually buy those huge leica lenses?

I've not seen many people (if any) with them. I've seen a few with a M7/8/9 whatever it is, with those small lenses attached.

I've not seen anyone use the larger Leica telephotos at all. Most that I've seen use the smaller primes.

^^^ Yeah I think the telephotos are for their DSLR camera (which is really expensive too).

I find leaving POTN alone for a few days usually deals with camera overload. ;)

Sometimes I make it an entire weekend without posting.

There was a time when I just stopped posting and would check in once in a while. I guess I'm addicted to the UCPC folk.

so what are you waiting for Kenji? make the switch!! :D

Well....

1. the D7000 isnt out yet..and id rather like to handle one first...make sure im not upset losing the 2fps and the build quality is good

2. I wanna make sure i make the switch for the right reasons...

In favor are i generally like most of the Nikon lenses, price wise most of the Nikon stuff is the same or less expensive than the Canon equivalents, they also come with hoods and cases for the most part, I generally prefer Nikon's preference to individual dials and switches for functions versus multiple controls on one switch or submenus like Canon..I also really like black lenses and I really like the body upgrade path in Nikon (Where i kinda have one, Whereas in Canon I really do not at the moment and I do not see that changing)...I think Nikon's flash system is vastly superior which might be nice considering i completely hate the 580EX II...I also like their macro flash unit :) and the ability to use old Ai-S Nikkors again with FULL compatability and metering makes me smile a LOT....Nikon's metering and color cast is closer to what i like...and if i remember right Nikon handles red PERFECTLY which is a problem i've had with my 7D...(My 7D tends to blow the red channel)

Against it...well...I dont think id gain much in image quality, I wont lose much, but in terms of image quality im not gaining much if any (I expect the D7000 to be very good in terms of noise, But I'm not thinking it will be too much better than the 7D..) I'll need to get new memory cards too (since the D7000 uses SD versus CF) I'm also afraid because im dropping down to a high end consumer body from a pro body that ill regret it...

But then again, im seeing the D7000 as a stepping stone, I sacrifice having a D700 now to basically have a lot of good glass to enjoy now, and a lot of glass is better than a D700 with 1 lens to me where id be starting over completely...

Also my estimate could be wrong, Basically i looked at KEH's used prices (as in if i were to buy my Canon gear from them from scratch) and subtracted a few hundred (its like $4900 at KEH to buy all my stuff from them...I wont match their high prices in the sell forum, but i should get like $4500 easily)

Thoughts are apreciated though..i am thinking on this
