I skipped the road races this week since they were in industrial parks again (boring!), so I drove down to the Kenosha Velodrome instead. Low light making ISO 3200 just about mandatory later in the evening and yet still only getting 1/100th shutter speed. Yet, I try!
I could probably get away with using a flash, but would rather not disturb the racing. It's dangerous enough without that distraction. It's an old track, in use since 1932, so the lighting is less than ideal. There are hot spots though that I try to work with.
1. Just before their heat.

2. Still some residual sunlight yet. Sarah Huang leading - 15 years old and holds her own against the guys!

3. The first lap of a three lap race is pretty relaxed. Especially for the juniors.

4. 70mm, ISO 1600, f2.8, 1/50th - I'm pretty happy with this even though it's so noisy.
