Well, I just started playing with a set of bellows on my 10D today.
All components are M42 thread mount items, which I felt would work well for generic compatibilty, as well as being able to pick M42 lenses up on ebay at a reasonable price. I started with an M42 to EOS adapter. The lens is a Pentax 50mm Super Takumar screwed into the M42 mount bellows which are in turn screwed into the 20mm extension tube for clearance of the prism hump at the front of the camera. My first victim so far was a Dime. F/16 @ 1/60th.
Comments and Advice welcome. :D

Thanks for the nice comments Sandy, Bald Eagle, Learner, & Maz. :D
BTW, I forgot to mention that the shot of the Dime's date is full frame with zero cropping done. ;)
PS, Anybody know what the JS or J5 just to the left of the date is for?

Certainly Alan. Ebay can be your friend if you're careful to take note of the sellers feedback. The lens, & Bellows are Asahi Pentax M42 screw mount items from the sixties. They are totally manual including aperture and focus, which IMHO is a good thing for macro any way. ;)
How to make it fit? I also picked up a couple M42 to EOS adapters on ebay for starters. The M42 bellows will not screw directly on to the 10D body, as the prism hump on the camera extends too far forward and interferes with the offset rod below the bellows making it impossible to screw on with out some sort of spacer. My solution to ths problem was to pick up a set of M42 extension tubes, that will be fun to play with anyway. I took the 20mm tube and screwed it into the adapter on the 10D, then mounted the bellows complete with a 55mm Takumar. The results are what you have seen here. ;)

JS is the initials of the designer, and the D indicates it was produced at the Denver mint. Great detail on such a small object, can't wait to see some more stuff ;)

I dont know about EVERY dime, and I dont think I would have noticed it on this one either if it weren't for the magnification of the bellows macro settup.
BTW, Welcome to the forum Mark. :D

First of all thanks to Bruce (Ballen) for posting this, and being supportive via pm's. I've duplicated his pentax bellow kit, and this is my first image.

It is a British £2 coin, and inspired by the 'js' on Bruce's dime, I found the signature 'BR' on this coin!

I didn't have much luck with my flash (550ex, with omnibounce) so I set this to a 3.2 second exposure. I had to tweak the raw file a little to allow for the crap lighting, but I am 'happy' with my first attempt! The lens is not level with the coin, which is why I think I've lost focus, on the lower part of the image. I could of cropped it, but I wanted to show it off 'warts n all'.
