Worked on a photo of a church last night, removing powerlines and such. Lots of trees so it was pretty time consuming. The church was really old, a little slanty and on a hill, so getting it level was pretty difficult. Let me know if it should be tilted any...

I thnk you did a pretty great job. There are still some lines to the right of the church, not sure if you want to take them too. Birghtening and boosting the greens out also makes it beautiful. Saturation, vibrance, exposure? what did you increase? How long did this take you and what was your technique?

Thank you for catching those other power lines. I certainly want to clean them up. I opened it in camera raw and warmed the colors up a bit, with a touch more contrast as well. Than I took it to photoshop and cloned around the trees and the church and used the patch tool on the sky. I didn't adjust the exposure in the raw file to much, because I didn't want to lose any of the sky detail before changing the color. Once the lines were gone I used the color select tool on the sky and used color balance to add in some cyan and blue, than upped curves on the whole picture to brighten it. I had alot to work with luckily, but it still took about an hour and a half.

Looks like you did a very good job on the wires you cloned out.

Nice job on the cleanup. I think I would have looked at the original and thrown my hands up in defeat. You did miss a couple of wires that pass in front of the evergreen on the right side. I guess you didn't want to blow out the sky, but the parts of the image that draw the eye are under-exposed.

Didn't anybody tell those people that balloon releases are frowned upon and illegal in some places because they frequently end up in the ocean where they cause deaths among marine animals (e.g., sea turtles, dolphins, and whales) that mistake them for jelly fish and eat them?

We're in ohio, so I don't know if they'd reach the ocean, but in general I imagine it makes for a lot of litter. Bubbles seem to be the best bet. Fun for the kids and clean. I'll try brightening up the church when I fix those wires.

That's the worse case of wire inrusion that I've ever seen. Top marks for having the skill and perseverance to clean them up.

Here is the photo with the wires in the bottom right cleaned up. I also added in some extra balloons from a later shot and brightened the church a little.

It keeps getting better. It still looks very much underexposed, but the added balloons are a really nice touch.

Great job on those wires!

My only suggestion would be to straighten the image - or is the building not straight on both sides? My eye goes to the left side of the church vs the edge of the image.

I think the church may not be straight. Looking at the two steeples on top it seems to slope left.

EXCELLENT job, in my opinion! I agree with the underexposure and the slant, but the wire removal was what I call "mission impossible", after seeing the original pic. Way to tackle the task!!!

The church isn't straight. It's really old and the steeple is slanting weird, the whole building slants a little and it's on a hill to boot. Everytime I try to use perspective or distort something else goes wonky. I'm good at tedious cloning but that has me stumped.
