The genuine Canon cable seems crazy short at 2 feet.

Has anyone tried the "Pixel" brand always advertised on Ebay?

The have a 5 foot unit for $16 shipped:

My advice
Dont buy the cheap cable
I got one from Amazon and it lasted literally 10 min before it died
Get the one from flashzebra
It is a quality product, I have the short and long and both work like a charm

+1 on the Flash Zebra cord. I purchased the long cord (I thik it's 25 feet long) for about $65 total (incl s/h). I've been using it for off-camera stuff for over a year, and it works perfectly!

I recently got the flashzebra one and it's great! I havent had a chance to use it for the full length but have used it handheld and it's just great. Feels study.

The Flashzebra was either too short or way too long, so I got the Pixel one.

It came directly from Hong Kong in about 2 weeks by Air Mail.

The coiled cable is about 1mm thicker than the genuine Canon and looks well built. It has all metal guides and works fine so far. I'll report back if I break it somehow.

They also had the LP-E8 batteries for $7.50 from the same seller, also with free shipping. I ordered 2 of them (much cheaper than the genuine Canon battery that sells for $55). The box claims that the batteries have " +100% extra power" (they are rated at 1200mAh, the Canon's are 1120mAh, so that is about +7% extra power) but who's counting at $7?

I think all the Canon and non-Canon cables and batteries are made by the same factory in China. At the end of the assembly line they slap on different labels and put them in different boxes.

I have the canon and a YN version. Practically identical. Have two dot line that were utter crap though so not all knockoffs are created equal.
