What is the best way to shoot silver jewelry on a white background without blowing out the silver, but keeping the white pure white? Right now I'm cleaning up a whole bunch of images to get the background pure white.

I'm thinking maybe I should be shooting through something transparent and light from underneath as well? Thanks!

I've been working on something similiar. Have you tried using reflector cards?

I'd be interested in learning about some of your lighting techniques.

Some of my recent shots posted here.

Not much of a technique yet really. I started doing work for a new client today and it looks like this will be pretty one, so I want to make sure I do it right.

Looks like lighting it from the bottom is the way to go.

What are reflector cards?

I guess the proper term is "bounce cards". They allow you to bounce light, and manipulate the light and dark areas on the metal.
