Hello,

I recently looked into google apps after searching through the forums and finding a (perhaps very old) recommendation by (the) Tim regarding google apps.

I've signed up mainly so that I can have emails associated with my domain. I decided not to go with godadday (where I bought the domain) because of concern for their blacklisting policies and just general concern that I wouldn't be properly receiving all of my emails (from prospective clients).

Question: is mail through Google Apps reliable ? Would the reliability be any different from that of the gmail account that I've happily been using ?

thanks !

Google Apps is as reliable, and the same interface as Gmail - I use both daily.

The only catch being that *some* apps and features aren't available in Apps yet - but the core functionality is the same.

I have 2 Google Apps accounts to handle our business side and we have a total of 6 Gmail accounts. They all work wonderfully well. I can add someone to the GA accounts in a couple of seconds and their e-mail is live. Simple as that. GA E-mail works flawlessly. I have all our accounts set up on my Droid and I've never had any issues with it at all. I do have our GA accounts set up as IMAP rather than POP, but that's another discussion.

Great to hear positive feedback. I'm not likely to be adding more than a few accounts (aliases?), but the idea that I have an email address associated with my domain--and for free, and with very similar functionality and reliability of gmail--is pretty incredible.

I have to wonder how many people know about this option..

thanks, guys.

I have google apps set up with my domain, and it has the exact same interface as gmail. Fast and reliable, its pretty near perfect.

I use Google Apps for my business email too. As other have said, it works great. The web interface works great, it works great with my OSX Mail app and I get push email to my iPhone... for free. Not much to complain about there. :)

If you worried about its reliability maybe you should give this link (external link) a read. If it is solid enough for the county of Los Angeles I have to think it is ok for a single proprietorship or personal use.

I have use google apps and had a couple of gmail accounts for several years now with no issues. It certainly blows hotmail out of the water, imo.

My life is like one big RAW file....way too much post processing needed.
