If you're wondering why you're sinking to the bottom of the forum without replies, it's because you posted a whole lot of photos. It's better to self-critique and then post a photo or two for which you really need some input. I'll start and end with the first one:

Cute dog, adorable collar, and the snow on his chin lends a nice seasonal touch. However, he's looking out of the frame, and the space at the left does nothing to inform us about what has caught his attention. It's usually best to place 'psychological space' in the direction that your subject is looking; you've done the opposite here. So we have some vacant background that isn't adding anything and are left wondering what lies further to the right. Also, since the background is still discernible (that is, isn't not completely out of focus), there is much in the frame to distract us from the subject, and none of it is necessarily informative. It is a really cute dog, though.

I'll tackle the last pic, as I'm hungry :)

While the food itself looks very tasty, the problem is the depth of field is very thin and there's nothing of note actually in focus, except for a bean or two. I would step the lens down a bit to get more in focus, and think about which item of food you want the viewer to look at - when viewing a photo we are naturally attracted to what's in focus first.

Thanks for the comments guys. I know that I should have stopped the lens down a bit on the food shot....but I was too hungry to reshoot LOL.

and the dog shot, I agree with which side of the frame should have open space. She was initially looking into the frame and then looked the other way at the last minute.

Really these are mostly snap shots I guess, just wondering what people thought. Thanks again guys!
