I've only used this one, and it has a watermarking function that can be batched. I haven't explored the entire program but it seems to provide a LOT of functionality:

Do it with a Photoshop action. I used this Russell Brown video (external link) as a starting point for mine. I have it now that I can tag additional option in the action before running and have new elements placed in the image.

If Photoshop isn't your thing then I would simply Google watermarking, copyright, branding or any other variation of what you want. There is several stand alone application that I recall seeing that offer this.

My life is like one big RAW file....way too much post processing needed.

Google's free Picasa software will add a simple text watermark to your images.

If you have Lightroom, best plugin ever - Mogrify

Works a treat for me!

Another vote for LR2 Mogrify... not sure what you consider inexpensive either, but this a great plugin!

Here is an example of a simple border and watermark with LR2Mogrify

if you are not already an LR user, or dont want a plugin, a standalone watermarking program that I use is "iWatermark: (Google is your friend)

Low cost and excellent results. I highly recommend it.

Yes, but it will only put it at the bottom corner of your image, without options for where to put it or the sizing.

I've only ever used LR3 beta but you have choices over where the watermark goes and how big it is with that version.
