how do you micro adjust ?

Check manual if your camera supports it, not all do.

Just a thought. The razor thin DOF at 1.4 makes it much more difficult to lock focus. It could take a significant amount of practice to get used to it.

I shoot with a 50 1.2 on a regular basis. ;)
My old Sigma 70-200 @ f/2.8 completely zoomed is sharper than this guy.
Sent to Canon

In not so good light, it is an issue on the 40D/50D. The 5D/5DII I'm not sure about.

What do you mean by this?

Good move .. the 35 L is sharp in the center wide open and if you own one, you deserve happiness as much as the next guy

When it comes back you'll be a happy man.

If your using the 5dII mount your cam on a tripod, enable MF, liveview an use the liveview zoom. Then you'll be sure your focus is right ;)

I usally don't use my 35L below f1.8 to make sure the image isn't to soft !
But hey i'm a pixel peeper ;)
