Good Morning,

I've just finished the first draft of Edd & Ashleighs Photobook.

I'd appreciate any C&C.

The pages are double page spreads, that will be printed into a GraphiStudio Primary Album.

Thanks,
Chris

I like how you use color to draw attention to either the background or specific smaller photos in the album. The thin white borders around the smaller photos looks rather plain. Although, I imagine that any pattern might look over-repetitive when repeated a hundred times. Would fading the edges into the backgrounds still look nice?

You say these are double-page spreads? If these are printed in A3 format or portfolio format, then they should be fine. However, if they lie flat with a 1cm gap between the leaves, or are bound with the pages dovetailing into each other, then the smaller photos which are positioned vertically in the middle of the spreads will be either chopped or severely distorted in the album. Two such Image IDs: 12446, 12460.

Likewise, some of the background photos will literally divide the bride and groom. Inauspicious for the occasion. Three such Image IDs: 12463, 12465, 12452.

I have Canon gear. SX1 IS, two 7D bodies and mostly f/2.8 lenses 10mm-200mm, doubler, and 17/4 TSE, some 580EX IIs. Additional portable lighting gear, and tripod with 360 pano mount. Want two 7D II bodies.

I don't have a lot of photos on each spread as I like to keep the focus on just 2-4 photos per page to keep things reasonably sized. However, I like your first draft. It's not what I would do but the client should love it.

I do find some of the spreads overly busy - but I'm a simply person and I get confused/confuzzled easily.

WRT to the last page of the rings .. the guy's (Ed's) doesn't look in focus.
