Gotta agree about the cat. :( But your shots are beautiful. No way I can get close to a Piliated up here...but I sure can hear them!

Wow, these are all so good. I have seen a Pileated in flight a few times, but the stop shots make it much better.

Bald Eagle with Cat

Wait, is that a House Cat? I have been waiting for this. I knew, if the eagle numbers kept going up, and they have been, then they would be forced to take targets of opportunities. Since we humans have killed or driven off all their natural prey, cats and dogs would be next. ;)

Amazing shots Jim each and every one.
Why poor cat? When someone posts an Eagle or Osprey with a fish no one says poor fish. It's not like this cat was someone's pet. Feral cats kill thousands of birds and nestlings every year. They are second only to building/tower strikes in songbird mortality causes. I say way to go Eagle.

Regards,
Chuck

Got to agree with Chuck. I love cats, but after seeing the NatGeo hour movie about house cats that are let out by unsuspecting cat owners, and the damage they do, I have to say, House Cats need to be kept on a leash or in the house. They are little Frankensteins when let out at night, doing untold amounts of damage to the native critters. I know many are already taken by Owls, and Coyotes, but to see an eagle with one makes my day. :)

Absolutely incredible shots! What lens and camera was used here? The shots look allot like a 500 f4.
