Hey POTN

How and where do you see how many exposures your 5D has performed? I'm selling my camera to get the 5D MKII and people ask how many pics it's taken and I really don't know.

The IMG numbers have started over a few times, but I don't know how many. Any help?

I don't think there's any software to check the 5D...

Doesn't the camera have a feature that shows how many pics it's taken?

No. You have to send it to Canon. You can only check yourself with DIGIC III or later cameras.

Make your best guess or make it up. It's astounding how many 5D's are sold with less than 10k actuations...

You're speaking of the 5Dc right?

Yeah.

EOSInfo works with the 5DII, but not the 5D, which is what the OP is asking about.

If you used the file "continous" count, that is the same thing as shutter acuations of course. Depends on how you set the file count. Otherwise, you can't determine the actuations on the 5D. I was searching to buy a used one and found this out when I called Adorama.

I kind of misread the OP, for some reason I thought he was selling a 5D2.

In any event with all the "less than 10k" 5Dc bodes out there you do have to be careful buying them.

if you ever swapped CF cards with another camera, the "continuous numbering" is wrong.

Only if you don't format cards after inserting them.
