Here are a few photos taken while flying around the eastern US this month.

Nope, it's not a satelite image. This is Nashville, TN taken from 38,000 feet. Normally I don't like these sort of straight down pics, but this one had interesting colors because it was taken through a hole in a cloud layer.

This is lightning at night over Mississippi. It's tough to capture night lightning because it's impossible to focus and time things. Also it doesn't help having a long shutter speed while moving at 500 mph. I'm going to do some more experimenting. This is the best I've gotten so far.

Here is a nice clear morning at Kansas City Airport.

This is a massive squawl line about to pummel Charleston, WV. If you look close you can see the Kanawah River and Charleston. I saw footage of this storm on the weather channel last night.

Thanks for looking.

Thanks for the comments guys. I've put a lot of miles on my camera bag this month. Summer is my favorite time for flying photos because of the dramatic clouds. I'm still waiting to get a real stunner aerial photo this summer, but I'm trying to stay patient. Maybe next week. For now I'm working on getting pics of all the major cities we fly over or to. I've found having large city name in my pbase gallery really ups the hit count...something to do with the search function I imagine.
