I've used the program at DOF Master's site (external link) to get the chart for hyperdistance calculation into my Palm Pre. The downloadable program allows you to set focal lengths and f/stops, then using the chart you get the hyperlength distance. This is not an app as with the iphone where you have to stop and plug numbers into, just a quick glance chart with immediate answers.

I downloaded the program to my computer. I have Adobe Acrobat on my computer. I set the min and max focal lengths at the bottom of the graph, then set the f/stops to the ones I use.

When I produced the charts I wanted, I "printed" them using Adobe as a .pdf to my desktop. I emailed them to myself and saved the charts in the PDF file on the phone. You can do this with any smartphone that has PDF document storage.

Good tip, Jay. This method also works if you want to keep .pdf copies of your camera manuals on your phone too. Sure beats carrying the paper copies or even the cheat sheets.

Jay,

How do you like your Palm Pre? I'm still with the older Palm Treo and am dithering about upgrading to the Pre Plus sometime this year. And yes, DoF Master is running on my Treo - which is a Pal OS version rather than the later windows variant.

A whole bag full o' stuff, mostly with the word CAN on it! Does that mean "All the gear and no idea"? Well I have an idea about 1D bodies, Full Frame and L lenses...

I had that OS version on my Treo as well, and was annoyed that there was no Web OS Pre app for it. That's why I made this one.

I actualy love the Pre Plus. I must say that I wish there were more apps for it as there are for the Droid and iPhone, and the overall speed is slower than the iPhone. Mail is slow to load.

However, the Pre is only 2/3 the size of the iPhone, and aside from the smaller number of apps, works the Internet extremely well, from Google maps to POTN.

That is an excellent tip. I have a cheatsheet for the 5D2 and the 580 II lite which I'm going to scan now. Thanks.
