Hi,

Sorry, this is also posted in the Wildlife thread, but I was told that there are more spider experts here.

I happened to see this on my bedroom wall. I was quite a distance away and the flash seemed to have stunned it a bit. Managed to get it removed.

Any ideas on the type of spider? It was about 5cm long and I'm in the UK. As it was very late night and I was very sleepy, I had it on the Macro setting and thus the flash was fired and it was on 55mm. This is why it is a bit overexposed.

Bit hard to tell but would guess on a sac spider or perhaps a woodlouse spider.

I guess it will be a woodlouse spider. Just looked on Google Image Search and the photo hosted on Britannica seems to represent the spider. Thanks for the reply.
