Where do I rent a good video camera? My friend just got his pilot license and we want to record from the plane view. Id like to use a good camera that has a good zoom range

Let him get some time under his belt before you start dragging extra gear on board. Jay

This would be one of the few times I suggest going with the "geeky" P&S method of shooting. Jay

But again, if you're up front, you should be head up and helping the pilot watch for traffic and not "heads down" in a photographic device. This is true most of their rigs are pretty big. But maybe just take a Panasonic EX1 if they have one, or a Canon XL. Pretty small but good range.
