#3 is the best in this series. Nice and sharp, well exposed and composed and a nice and quiet bokeh.

The first two are lacking some "brilliance" and because of the way you shot the flowers there are unsharp elements (like the front petals) that spoil the image.

#4 is not really very interesting.

Keep shooting! (and try to get to grips with depth of field).

Number three is by far the best of the lot. One & two look a bit flat on my monitor, and four just doesn't do a thing for me.

Number three is outstanding!

DOF I still have not figured out  Any advice you could offer would be tremendously appreciated... thanks!

First seems to have colour saturation off the scale. The second shows that the flower is past its enjoy by date and just looks plain ugly. The third is probably the best. I would, however, have liked to see the stem lighter. Bonus no4 is probably a little too dark for most people but I like it.

There are plenty of tutorials on the internet about "depth of field" - also in the stickies on this forum.
DOF is determined by the focal length and the distance to the subject in relation to the aperture. It is the range within which the subject(s) will acceptably sharp.
Rule of thumb: the smaller the aperture (higher F-number) the wider the depth of field.

#1, i'd zoom in until the middle left OOF petal is half cut off in the lower left corner, focusing on the stamens of the flower.

#3 is by far the best, the background could be a little brighter though
#4, doesn't do a lot for me, I'd significantly crop in on the red flower.
