It's looking like a lot of Canadian retailers are getting down to match the prices at B&H/Adorama on this one!

Hopefully we'll see this extended to everything Canon!

yes BUT i also just bought a 5dc with grip and 3 batteries and would hate to take a loss on it just after a month! The same setup will run me a good $2800 with two batteries with a 5D2 and BG-E6. If i were to somehow magically sell my setup for $1400 if that on a lucky day then i might consider it. Not sure if I want to though at this point even though it is tempting to say the least.

I was personally gunna wait the year or two for the 5D3 and just get that and keep my 5Dc as back up to it. OR if the 5D3 turns out to be like super expensive in the 3.5K+ mark then I think I would just get a used a 5D2 at that time and keep the 5Dc as backup to that. I mean just because the 5D3 comes out it wont mean the 5Dc and 5D2 wont take great pictures!

No problem! Accidentally stumbled upon it while looking for something else and thought it was a mistake! Obviously not!

That is a huge price drop for Canada.
Wonder if it will extend to the 7D?

Thanks for the heads up. I just ordered one. :) Aden Camera in Toronto has them at $2,399.99, $100 less than Henry's. They also have the 7D at $1,599.99

The Canon Gods are smiling. :) :) :)

Mostly Digital has it for $2292 -- you can try to PM it out of province to save on PST as well...

I think you can EASILY sell your current kit for $1400 on craigs, I would venture $1700 is not an unfair price to ask (w/grip and 3 batts.).

Then it's off to the wonderful world of 5D2. :D

SO tempting lol..
but then again, I'll wait for the mk3..

I wouldn't mind an upgrade, but I don't need one!

I dunno man.... as tempting as this is i think i would rather wait for the 5D3 at this point. Im okay with my current camera for another year or two until the 5D3 comes out and all the hype dies over a bit and the camera is readily available for sale.

And to be honest i still don't think the 5D2 is worth the extra money over the 5Dc. My only reason to upgrade to the 5D2 would be to be able to shoot at higher ISO's and the high ISO performance that camera gives. All the other things are nice but not necessary at this point for me. The only other biggy that i can think of is micro-adjust!

5D2 is a great camera but im holding out for the 5D3. If im being completely honest on this topic the only thing that kept me from gong Nikon (D700 that is) is the wonderful lenses Canon produces. And now that Im finally buying quality glass and knowing quality glass is usable 10-15 years I think I wont be going anywhere, lol.

If you can hold out for the 5D3, you are a patient man. :) I most certainly could not.

If the 5D3 is like 5D2 with 7D's AF, then I would be all over it, price be damned. But for now, I'm VERY happy with the 5D2. I haven't taken pictures this sharp, then the 35L arrived and I was like :eek::eek:
