Hold 300 lb's. I mean if it's good for warzones, I guess it's good for camera gear :D

Now how would I connect this to the camera? I was tihnking some kind of attachment to the hanger like the Lumaloop.

sure... it's absolutely doable... you can go to EMS and get some lighter weight climbing ropes (1/8 ~ 1/4" Dia) and sew that onto a webbing tape... but the trick here is sewing... you need a special machine that is set for heavy duty fabric sewing... you to sew anything heavier than 14oz denim on your home machine and you will mess up the gear timing as well as break many needles.

maybe a shoe repair shop can stitch em for you... their machines are built for leather sewing...

I use a DIY strap.

I have one (strong) keyring attached to one of the camera strap connection points.

A second keyring on the DIY strap. Finally, a small carabiner for linking the two keyrings together.

My wisdom is learned from the experience of others.

I've you've never used a single point rifle sling, the sling webbing usually connects to a loop adapter on the rifle. The webbing is typically 1-1/4" give or take a 1/4".

Here's another example of a single point sling:

The above photo is the Specter Gear MOUT sling and I have a couple of these (one on an AR-15 16" Carbine variant and a Remington 870).

The Remington 870 has a single point sling attachment plate. This is the exact one I use:

So you'd pretty much need something that will take 1-1/4" webbing (or whatever width the sling is) and mount that in the tripod screw of the camera.

It looks like all I would need is a FasteneR style screw or even just another piece of fabric to tie to one of the hangers and it would be good.
Will take a closer look once I get the strap.
