but i was bored... i was playing around with my filters and seeing... let's see... let's screw a B+W UV filter onto my Hoya CPL...
and then my face started turning red as i tried and tried to unscrew the sucker...
after 30 mins of unsucessful attempts... i found myself in Chef Central looking for jar openers...
i purchased 2 of these...![]()

works like a charm for $6.99...
the opener actually fits total of 8 sizes and the wider side of the biggest opening fits 77mm filters amazingly... and even with the rotating portion of the CPL, it held it and opened the filter very easily.
did not try any other sized filters but i'm sure if it can hold, it will open.
maybe i'll just cut 2~3" off the end of this to make it a bit more portable...
oh, and comes in black, red, green and blue...

The rubber hood had a plastic thread, the filter was metal. So I put them in the freezer for 1/2 an hour. Bingo!!! They just came apart, no problem at all. Just let them warm up at room temperature for a couple of hours before using them again.
