Do you guys have it set to clean every time you turn it on and off or is that overkill?

I turn mine off. I clean it manually. I just hate the wait time when turning on the camera.

If you only change your lenses now and then yes it's overkill, if you change most days then leave it turned on it wont hurt..:-)

I leave mine on at all times. Any rationale for why a person would turn it off? Curious to hear.

I am curious as to why they would turn it off, I would leave mine on standby, ok, not all the time, but when I am out on a shoot, rather than just turn it off, I will let it to to standby, only when I am changing lens, do I turn it off. The sensor, being electronic will attract dust that way if left on during a lens change

I always turn the camera off when changing lenses. The only possible reason I could imagine for turning the auto sensor clean function off is to conserve battery. But with the high number of images I get out of one lithium battery, that is a moot point for me.

Why shut it off? If you need the camera "faster" you simply press a button and the cleaning is shut off. You can stop it at anytime!

I just thought that leaving it on all the time would wear something out or something. Thanks for the help, I'm leaving it on.
