I found this little one sitting in a tree in the North Platte, Nebraska area over the weekend. It could barely fly, and seemed happy to pose for me. Can anyone tell me what it is?

One of the people I work with thinks it may be a robin.

I veto the robin suggestion - robins have spots, not stripes on their chests. Don't know what it is though.

Is this little guy possibly a young RWBB? Sort of looks like the female of that species.

Here is an obvious question that may help ID a lot: Did you happen to see the parents at all?

If it's a Cowbird, seeing the parents wouldn't help at all since they're parasitic.

No parents around at all. I watched and waited to see if anything came by, but no luck. It was all alone fluttering and hopping from branch to branch.

The more I look, the more it screams robin, especially in the beak area.

I'm not really good at bird ids either but my guess is some sort of Grackle but the beak kinda of throws that out of whack. But if you give me permission to download I can post on another site I visit and get the ID for you. If it's ok tell me where you took the picture.
