"The Main Event" at Santa Pod, Mon 31 May

Had a great day in less than perfect lighting conditions at Santa Pod yesterday. Practice is paying off and I got a higher hit rate than previously. Here's a selection of some of my best from the day.

1. Jari Halinen launches off the line.

2. Anita Makela wins the leg, but wrecks her engine and makes a nasty mess of the track.

5. Tony Betts gets a bit of a skip going at the burn-out.

7. John Bradshaw sets a new world record fastest time for a Nissan Skyline at 7.451s

8. And finally a shot of the Battle of Britain Flight, which came over surprisingly low - a pity about the lighting.
