One of my friends REALLY REALLY REALLY wants me to be her wedding photographer. Since I'm no wedding photographer I kept declining for a long time, but she keeps asking me to do it. Well, after having taking some casual photos this weekend at a real wedding in a bad venue, she still loved my photos and keeps insisting. So, I caved in and agreed.

On to my practice E-session. I grabbed two of my friends and asked them to model for me as if we were shooting an engagement session. Here are the results:

Please CC. I need to learn!
I posted all the photos I got from that session at http://picasaweb.google.com/drpheta/ESessionTrialSonHaily (external link)

I think you are off to a pretty good start. #1 is definitely my favorite. I like what you were going for in a lot of your shots, and with a little bit of practice your execution will improve. The biggest problem I noticed in a lot of the pictures is that you had a bad angle on their faces. Practice getting at angles where you can see both of your subjects instead of so many back-of-the-head shots...Don't fret though, this just comes with practice.

My only other suggestion would be to open up your aperture so that you through the background more out of focus (#3 and 4 as examples). This will help your subjects pop more. Good luck.

Thanks! I see what you mean about my angles. I need to figure out how to get positioned better/position them better. For the bokeh you mentioned, I should have used f2.8 on my lens instead. Was the Tokina UWA, and I didn't realize that till you pointed them out.

I appreciate the help.
