I posted this thread today about a shoot I need to do next week. https://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=881835

So I am thinking that maybe a strobist kit. I already have a 580 ex II, I was thinking about adding a 430 EX II and a strobist kit. What do you think about this option?

I have a 7D so I could use the wireless feature. Do you think this would provide enough power if used with umbrellas? I have not used a strobist kit so I would have to do some practicing. I have used the 7D wireless with my 580 and it worked well. The photoshoot will be for six people.

Any suggestions or advise would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Ed

Thanks, I have been on the site quite a bit with good information. I have also been watching videos about using the Canon wireless system with 7D. I still have some concerns about this route. I think it would be helpful to have a strobist setup, but not sure it really is the right setup for the type of shoot I need. Just wondering about night coverage in a basic studio type setting.

Thanks
Ed
