I wrote one for Android phones if you want to give it a try...search for Studio Buddy Lite (the lite version is free and limits the modifiers and #lights).
Looking for any useful feedback such as missing modifiers, missing features, etc.

This is my take on the iphone Strobox app and lightingdiagrams.com. I added more modifiers and added a bunch of features the Strobox users griped about ;)

Hey, I'll give this a try.

I bought an HTC Desire a month ago - best phone I ever bought in my life. Best combination of design/performence and...battery life ;-)a

LOL...battery usage isn't thatttt much different than the iphone. My Moto Cliq lasts two days before needing a charge (1-1.5 if I use it a lot). The iphone will last less than a day if you play games on it or use the screen a lot.

Don't run background apps that suck down facebook/twitter updates every 5min. If you run wifi, have it shut down when the screen is off (battery saver mode). Set your screen brightness to the lowest level you can (mine is at 7%); this and the background apps are the biggest culprits usually...

Ha! I didnt know about the iPhone. Downloading now... Reviews arent that good, but its supposed to be updated soon, so we'll see if that makes it better. If they dont get rid of the ads, its getting deleted!

Not too bad!

I might suggest allowing all the modifiers in the free version so we can see what they look like. But only allow so many to be put on the diagram at one time to encourage the purchase.

$5.99 seems fair price for the full version. I would consider it more if I know what everything looked like. Strobox is free and I keep in on my ipod touch so I know it is hard to compete with that. But as it is not available on Android I might consider yours.

The modifiers are available...delete the first strobe that comes up in the default diagram (a modifier is considered a lighting source since you can add it by itself or put a strobe/speedlight next to it to show how it is powered). You'll then see all the others available (except for beauty dishes and panels which are in the full version) via the Add menu item. I've attached an image of most of the modifiers before I ran out of space on the diagram

It does a lot more than strobox: lots more modifiers, annotations, power ratio annotations, gels, configurable grid, and more space to lay out more complicated diagrams. Can't compete w/ strobox's "free" model since they seem to be trying to make their money via subscriptions on their community web site which I didn't think was very useful (at least I've never heard of anyone using that or lightingdigram.com's community site). The user base for Android is *much* smaller than iphones which most photographers use. To date, only 200 people have installed the Lite version and zero have paid for it, so even ad revenue is pretty much worthless...which makes me wonder if developing any more photography apps for Android is worthwhile :-P

Oops...sorry. Forgot that softboxes, beauty dishes, and panels are only in the Full version :-P

You can buy the full version and try it for 24hrs and get a refund if you don't like it, just like all Android Market apps...

And I'm jealous of you guys getting EVO's :-)
