fullcity: could you try it again w/ the latest version? I made the longpress on a selected item less sensitive to finger movement once you do the initial press. I'm pretty puzzled as to why longpress doesn't work on an unselected item though. Works reliably for me on my Cliq (Android 1.5).

New features this version: a multi-line "Post-it Note" object under the Other category, and the ability to lock movement of an object so you don't accidentally move it. Also added your suggestion to bring up the Add menu if you longpress an empty area.

Definitely works better now. I agree, making it less sensitive to initial selection (when it tends to slide a bit) seems to have done the trick. The only thing that would be nice is to have the submenu popup after the app decides enough time has passed for a longpress (2 sec or whatever); right now I hold the item for a while until I think it's long enough, let go, and the menu pops up only when I release.

The longpress on the empty area works well too -- in fact it works exactly like I would expect the longpress on an item to work, the submenu appears immediately without having to remove my finger. Thanks for the acknowledgment in the release notes :) .... I'm this close to buying the app even though I won't use it much, just as a show of support!

hmm...I'll have to look at the longpress again. I'm currently handling it on my own because I have to do some stuff to handle movement/rotation but the Android OS is handling the empty area longpress. The longpress period supposedly is only 1/2 sec from the docs I've dug out but it seems longer than that.
If you're not going to use it much, don't worry about it. Thanks for all the feedback though. Makes it better for everyone :-)

Yes! It works exactly as expected now. I can select an item, and even if it drifts during the initial press, if I hold the press, the menu pops up. It's great!
