First Lens You Bought...

Kit lenses aside, my first was a Canon 50 f1.4, then recently a Canon 24-70 f2.8L. Haven't even come close to regretting either purchase!

Next stop: 70-200 f2.8L

Canon 50mm f/1.8 was my first lens ever, I think I got the 28mm f/2.8 next and then a 70-210mm f/4 but that was a long time ago so I could be misremembering... all FD manual focus.

My first was the tammy 28-75, still rockin it along with the 70-200 2.8 IS.

nifty fifty mk 2 and sigma 55-200

loved the nifty, but hardly used the sigma. wouldn't take it back though cause I got it in pristine condition for $50. however, nifty is now dead, and i don't think i'd buy one again, better to invest in a mk1 or 1.4 evidently. shooting for a sigma 30 1.4 now

Not counting the kit, 'cause it came with the camera, My first purchase was a 50mm f1.8. Since then I have bought 3 other primes (28mm, 50mm, 85mm) and the 55-250mm. One of the new primes (Sigma 50 f1.4) replaced the 50mm f1.8. I gave that one to a friend going to Nepal.

First lens I got or purchased? 28-135 was gifted but I bought the nifty fifty.

The next lens is likely a 70-200 f/4 non-IS. The price is SO right (esp. used)

55-250, then my 70-200, then split the 50 1.4 between myself and a friend

Yup. 70-200 then 50 and then 17-40 which I recently just purchased about a week ago.

70-300 IS, and then the 50mm 1.8... Barley ever use that 70-300 now, but it did help me get started!

I started back in the film days with a Canon A2 and my first two lenses were both Sigma zooms. I still have them and use them whenever I get nostalgic and want to shoot some slides. I have all L lenses with my Mark III.

The first lens I bought was a Sigma 18-50 macro. After 6 lens purchases after, its still one of the most useful, cheapest and best performing ones I've had.

70-200 2.8L and no regrets! Still my favorite lens
