First lens I actually owned was the 18-55mm none IS that came with my 350D

This was quickly sold & an 18-55mm IS kits lens purchased [which I still use regularly] followed by a 55-250mm IS [almost permenantly attatched to my 50D as it's so versatile for such a cheap lens], then a 50mm f/1.8.

My next purchase [when funds allow] will be a 70-200mm f/2.8 :)

Well, kit lens was the 28-135. Sold that for a 17-85. Bought the 50 1.4 and a tamron 17-50 2.8. Just got my hands on a 70-200 2.8is. Why is this such an addiction

The first dSLR I bought was a Canon 30D and with that came a Canon EF-S 17-85 IS USM as a kit lens. On the contrary to many people, I think this is a great lens even if I don't have it any more. It was replaced with a EF 24-105 F/4L IS USM and a EF-S 10-22 USM.

But the first lens I bought was the EF 70-200 F/4L IS USM, and this baby I still have. This lens is my all time favorite.

Kind regards
Peter

First lenses I bought when buying my 10D in '03 was the Canon EF 28-135 IS and the Canon EF 70-300 IS

Regrets?

I still have the 28-135 and in fact have a 2nd one now (7D kit lens) ... no regrets on either of those! :D

The 70-300 IS ... kept it for about 9 months, never cared for it. Sold it and bought the Canon EF 100-400 L IS ... might call that a bit of an upgrade :D

Tamron 28-75 f/2.8

I sold the 28-135 kit lens to get it. Was a great move and I learned most everything I know about photography to this point using the Tammy lens.

First one after the kit lens with my Rebel XT was the 50/1.8II. Got it new for $65. Then came the 28-135. And L's after that!

My camera came with the 18-55mm IS as the kit lens, but the first lens I ever purchased separately was the 50mm f/1.8 just like most people.
