i purchased a digitalrebel and off late i am reading a lot of reviews where people talk about FEC available in Rebel XT and E-TTL II where the 7 focal points are no longer used to evaluate lighting on the subject and so on..Is there any way i can incorporate these 2 in my Digital rebel without changing the camera ;). You cannot add ETTL-II, but yes, the Wasia and Undutchables hacks will give you FEC functionality.

I hacked my 300D over a year ago and have upgraded to the current UD with no problems.

It is well worth it, do a search in the forum for a site link.

If your warranty is up then go for it FEC and mirror lockup. If not then your taking a chance. When I had bought a Drebel I put the hack on and it was great. But I felt uneasy that if something happenned to it where I couldn't access the controls to reapply the Canon firmware then I'd be screwed because they'll find out. So I put the Canon firmware back on and bought a 20D

I've read reports online of people sending their hacked Dreb for repair with no problems, although some say they got their camera back with the regular canon firmware instead of the hacked one...
