What all are the lenses you want it to hold? None of your current crop are all that big, but you're obviously planning on adding 3-4 others. And do you want the bodies to be gripped or ungripped?

Sorry, the signature has a limit, I have an 85mm f/1.8 USM and currently thinking of getting the 10-22mm UWA and 24-105mm L USM f/4, hence the need for space, can easily forget the kit lens

If you want backpack style the lowepro trekker or computrekker should do that.

The only problem with that bag, if I go on holiday, I am told it is heavy and airliners won't allow me to check it in, gonzogolf

Depends on the airline. You might not find them too easy to locate over there, but I'd suggest a Domke F1x or F2. Shoulder bags, not very heavy of themselves (under 1 Kg) but you can easily load them so full Virgin or Ryanair will hit you with a carry-on surcharge, or just not let you take them. I'd suggest getting a traveling companion who can carry some of your gear if you need to take an airline like that.

The Lowepro 400AW magnum will hold your gear and is an over the shoulder bag and is sized for carry on size limitations. Lowepro indicates whether a bag is sized for aircraft carry on in their catalog. That being said I was just reading a post in this forum where the weight limits varied for carry on and I'm fairly sure mine wouldn't be allowed with my gear as is. That individual had to pull cameras and lens to meet the weight restrictions, and carry them slung around his neck and in pockets

Canon 60D,18-55mm,55-250mm,50mm compact macro, AF ext tubes. Sigma 8-16mm uwa, 18-250mm, 85mm F1.4, 150-500mm

Sounds ouchy to have to carry around their neck, and pockets, since most cabin crew won't allow you to carry anything loose in the plane

Yeah - but once you're past the guardians of the gate, everything goes back into the carryon you took it from.
