Why has Microsoft decided to discontinue the Bing cashback program?

The cashback program was one of a number of efforts designed to deliver great value to our consumers and great ROI to advertisers. As we continue to evolve both the user and advertiser experiences for Bing, we will pursue different avenues that we believe will continue to offer great shopping experiences to consumers, great advertising experiences for our advertisers, and still deliver real value back to customers.

Will I still be able to redeem my cashback earnings after July 30, 2010?

Yes. You can redeem all of your cashback earnings consistent with the cashback terms and conditions and access the Bing cashback customer support system through July 30, 2011. We encourage you to redeem your cashback savings and to further support redemption we are waiving the $5 minimum payout effective July 31, 2010.Please visit http://cashbackaccount.bing.com (external link) to ensure your cashback account information is current to facilitate payouts of your cashback earnings.

I have less than $5 in my account, can I get my cashback?

Yes. As of July 31, 2010, the $5 minimum payout limit will be lifted, so just follow the same steps you would normally to request your payment.

It had to end eventually, there was no way it could be sustained. Hopefully everyone got into the action.

I wish I had taken greater advantage of the 30% bing during Christmas 2008. Those were the days.

Glad I got in when I did. The 20% BCB from Dell this past november allowed me to get a 5DM2 and 24-70 new for around $3250 after getting $970 BCB and turning around the kit lens.

Look at the bright side - when you go to sell slightly used gear you won't get PMs telling you "I can get that item for $xx more using Bing on eBay". ;)
