Canada Goose fly by. Handheld with 500mm + 1.4X TC

I was in the process of packing up my gear and getting ready to call it a night when a dozen or so geese decided to fly around their pond. I grabbed my camera and turned it back on and did my best to track and capture them as they passed me. Believe me, the combination of a 1D4, 500mm/f4.0 + 1.4X TC is heavy! I had been practicing with the Wimberley Head but took down the tripod and WH-200.

Nice shots Brian. I especially like #2. You must be 'working out' to hand hold that much weight and still get sharp pictures.

Hi Dan, thanks. It's a heavy set-up. I wouldn't want to carry or support that weight for too long. It is a good workout though! Wouldn't want to drop it!
