Just curious how do you manage to carry spare stuff without an assistant such as flashes, batteries, cards, body and lenses while you're shooting ?

I've found this Lowepro Exchange Messenger Shoulder Bag which costs 1/4 of 7MDH. But not sure which one is worth to buy. Any suggestions?

I have a 7MDH and my only complaints are:
* strap slips off whatever shoulder I put it on. So I put it over my head, but don't like doing so.
* velcro is extremely noisy.
Otherwise it's a well made bag; and many people like them. I don't use mine.

I had the 7MDH. It was too big.

I now have the Lowepro Exchange messenger. It is a very thin bag but the perfect size for me so I like it a lot better.

the 7mdh is thicker than the lowepro exchange. one of the main reasons the 7mdh feels more bulky is because its very well padded and strong. the lowepro exchange feels really cheap... i mean really really cheap. no padding at all.

the crumpler can stand on its own without anything in it. the lowepro exchange just falls and goes flat on the floor. and if you got stuff in there be careful putting it down or bumping into things with the exchange.

i think the 7mdh is not too big. i carry a gripped 5d2, 35L, 85L, 135L, 16-35L, 2 430ex's, 550ex. some triggers, filters, chargers and all.

and a note on that loud velcro... theres a flap that pulls down to cover it so you dont use them. just the buckles or no buckles

heres a pic of me with the bag on me.

Another thing to look into is the 7mdh clone...look in the Market watch section, I believe there is a thread in there about it.

I would not use my 7MDH for a reception, it's too bulky. Try a slimmer bag, one that hugs your body and won't get in the way.

I've got one of the 7MDH clones, and I love it. it's the same size as the Crumpler &MDH. It can get bulky, especially since I carry everything in it, but it beats the backpack I was lugging around, whihc was twice the size, and still only seemed like it held the same amount of gear.

I boguht mine from sigelectronics.com. got the bag in a few days (from Canada to VA).
(http://www.sigelectronics.com …ies_2/Large-Versa-Bag-Red (external link)). it was like $25.

one thing to note, another poster said that he bought a similar bag to the Versa bag, and one of his clips broke. he reinforced the clips (as I did) using a couple of keychain carabiners.

I think only the newer versions have the "silencer" flaps. You should be able to buy some velcro and cut to size to cover up your tabs though.

I use a Think Tank Urban Disguise 30 or 40 depending on what I need to carry. Works well for me, though I've also considered a belt system to get stuff off of my shoulders.

It can be, if you load it up. Keep the gear in check and it's not terrible. But yes - it's a bit of a bigger bag. That said, I use it all the time... Even receptions and parties. If I don't need the 70-200, I'll definitely switch to the 6MDH though.

I just ordered one. Don't need it but for that price I can use it to carry my lunch to work ;-)a

Thanks for the link.
